Job Summary: We are searching for a radio newsroom manager who coordinates reporters, breaking news for dynamic news presentation across the day. This includes eight hours of element-driven news blocks, short newscasts, news presentation in local talk, and continuing coverage of local and national breaking news.
Reports to program director
Prioritize at the highest level the planning for and execution of breaking news
Unerring commitment to, and responsibility for, accuracy in all things at all times
Ability to participate in and support multiple news blocks and news producers as needed across the day
Demonstrate strong leadership to improve the writing, storytelling and craftsmanship of reporters
Possess exceptional editorial judgment and decision-making on storytelling, tone and diction
Creativity to take available stories and go bigevery dayin presentation, sound and promotion
Expertise to discern between important and relatable information and stories that are routine and unremarkable. Disfavor needless reliance on political or criminal stories
Instinctive ability to advance stories across the newsday, and to anticipate and exploit late-day and next-day storylines
High sensitivity to mission, brand and integrity in news product
Collaborate with and support co-located television newsroom, digital newsroom, traffic department and meteorology team
Commitment to storytelling, promotion and relationship in social media, video, podcasting and emerging media and platforms
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.

Bachelors degree or equivalent
5+ years of experience in newsroom management preferred
