The Master Control Operator is a full-time position which requires early morning, evening, overnight, and weekend hours as well as holidays.  The ideal candidate will have one year experience in the broadcast industry and/or experience in information technology.  Training maybe considered for a candidate with less experience who possesses strong computer and technology skills.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: 

Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: 

Workplace contains high voltage electronic equipment, large electric motors and electrical equipment.  Duties frequently require a considerable amount of walking, standing, bending, and lifting of heavy equipment of 50 lb. items.  Job requires some travel.  Duties occasionally require weekend and night work.   Must be able to respond to emergency situations within a reasonably short time.

Master Control Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The chosen candidate’s duties will include, but are not limited to, the recording and ingesting of satellite and other electronic delivery programming and commercial feeds; The timing, editing, quality control monitoring, and switching of all programming while executing all functions required to maintain several broadcast signals simultaneously.  They will also be responsible for maintaining Commercial and Transmitter logs, Discrepancy Reports and other detailed paper-work for the operation of all systems within a multi-HD station master control room. 

 

KTVA-TV, Master Control Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Master Control Operators are responsible for monitoring the quality and accuracy of the on-air product. They ensure signal transmission meets government regulations which include both technical ones (such as those against audio over-modulation and dead air), as well as content ones (such as indecency and station identification). They troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and prepare programming for future playback.
