RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities: Responsible for implementing radio and/or internet sales programs designed to maximize sales revenues and achieve revenue goals set forth by the company. Generate revenue by developing market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales; recommending new products and services. Initiate sales process by scheduling appointments; making initial presentation; and understanding client requirements and needs. Regularly meets with prospective and current clients to create and maintain sales relationships. Close sales by building rapport with potential clients; explaining product and service capabilities, overcoming objections and preparing contracts. Assists with collections and accounts receivable functions as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations, sales principles and practices, products, customer needs, competition and market trends. The News Content Manager will oversee production of timely and engaging multi-platform content for distribution to KTVA’s broadcast and on-line audience. Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing logistics of daily coverage to include collecting information from multiple sources and assigning staff to produce content for distribution that will engage our audience. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties of the News Content Manager:

Develop and implement strategies for an integrated operation of all assignments – to include all broadcast and digital platforms
Works closely with the web throughout the day as news develops
Prepare coverage plan for daily morning and afternoon news meeting

Uses surface and upper air stations, satellites and radar, studies maps, photographs and charts to predict long and short range weather conditions, operates computer graphic equipment to produce weather reports in televised broadcasts and website presentations.
Communicates critical weather information, especially during severe weather, to producers and other critical staff members to ensure a consistent and accurate message to viewers.
Follows Denali Media guidelines to maintain an interactive presence on social media platforms.
Participates in story meetings.
Respond quickly to breaking news situations.
Deliver on-air news events in an engaging, exciting, and accurate manner.

Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance newscasts and stories.

Multimedia Content Manager; Reports To: News Director

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Multimedia Content Manager will work in collaboration with other newsroom managers, with the goal of executing multimedia strategies and overseeing a staff of digital producers/reporters. This person is not just passionate about digital/social/mobile media but is a teacher, leader and strategist with proven project management experience. This critical newsroom role is focused on developing and expanding KTUU’s brand and reach through emerging technologies and trends, while broadening communication with our viewers in conjunction with KTUU’s broadcast product. Daily, the Multimedia Content Manager plans, coordinates and assigns multimedia coverage, allocates newsroom resources accordingly, generates original enterprise content, copy edits, complies with all journalistic standards and enforces copyright compliance requirements for all published multimedia content.

REQUIREMENTS:

Job Requirements
Experience:
5 years of digital journalism experience, preferably a combination of both digital and broadcast news
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
·        Must be able to write clearly and accurately

·        Strong familiarity of AP Style Book

·        Strong familiarity of Copyright Standards and Compliance Requirements for Digital and Broadcast

·        Must possess excellent interview and conversational writing skills

·        Basic ability to shoot and edit video; produce original and enterprise news content

Strong research skills, including the ability to navigate online search engines
Strong planning and coordination skills, with a focus on logistics
Strong initiative and attention to detail is required
Basic computer knowledge including newsroom software, Microsoft applications and Internet use
Basic knowledge of newsroom software such as ENPS
Demonstrate solid news judgment and journalistic ethics
Must possess web writing skills and basic knowledge of web posting software
·        Understanding of Current Events and Regional/State/Local News  

·        Ability to use of social media outlets to engage viewers

·        Strong emphasis on professional social media skills as related to journalism

·        Must be able to work well under pressure

·        Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a manner that will work well with co-workers, supervisors and viewers

·        Solid keyboarding skills

·        Ability to work with Google Docs, Clickability, ENPS, Grass Valley edit or equivalent

·        Must have the desire to be at work during big breaking news, weather coverage and special event coverage

 
Education:
·        College Degree in Journalism or equivalent
Licensing/Certifications:
·        Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Essential Functions:
·        Use writing skills across all digital platforms

·        Write and post website stories, videos, photos

·        Supervise reporters/producers to generate multimedia content

·        Make phone calls and work with reporters/news makers to generate content for all news platforms

·        Create eye catching visuals for digital traffic

·        Develops and maintains sources for online reporting

·        Participates in story selection process through meetings; attendance at editorial meetings is required

·        Various shifts may be required, as news warrants; Holiday work required

·        Critique, feedback and training are part of the job

·        Follow clothing and appearance guidelines set by the Company in the Employee Handbook

·        Perform other duties as assigned

·        Disperse breaking news via text and mobile as well as web site with urgency

 
Working Conditions:
·        Exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions will be encountered.  Significant work in all weather conditions is to be expected.

·        Must be able to walk for extended periods while carrying equipment 25-50 lbs.

·        Must be able to stand for extended periods

Morning Anchor/Reporter. Reports To: News Director

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Morning Anchor/Reporter co-anchors a two-hour morning newscast with energy and professionalism. The reporter is responsible for developing, investigating, writing, reporting and editing stories of interest.  Must generate story and source contacts, and enterprise stories on a daily basis. Delivers reports of high visual and ethical standards, using creative ideas and live-news capabilities. Coverage is on-air, live or taped and on-line. Reporters may also be required to shoot and edit his/her own video at times, as assigned.

·        2-5 years anchor experience in addition to extensive on-air reporting, writing and producing experience

Working Conditions:
·        Duties are performed mostly indoors in an office environment. Some field anchoring may also be required.

·        Work includes sitting for prolonged periods.

·        Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, and holidays as needed

·        Work well with co-workers, especially the News Director and Assignment Manager

·        Must create “Anchor moments” in newscasts, do break-outs of stories with reporters

REQUIREMENTS:
