Producer – Lake Effect

You will be involved in all aspects of show production. You will schedule and conduct interviews from the home office, in studio and on location, produce story ideas and interview subjects that fit with the theme and style of the program, edit audio and program segments. What’s required: bachelor’s degree, minimum one year in journalism or related field, audio editing experience, web posting experience.
Duties will include:
- Scheduling and conducting interviews from the home office, in studio and on location
- Generating story ideas and interview subjects that fit in with the theme and style of the program
- Prepare related material for the station’s website and social media
- Edit audio and program segments
- Represent WUWM at community and virtual events
- Participate in WUWM fundraising campaigns and activities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of one year of experience in journalism or related field
- Audio editing experience
- Web posting experience
- A minimum of three years’ experience in journalism or related field
- Experience conducting pre-recorded and live interviews
- Familiarity with Southeastern Wisconsin issues
- Knowledge of WUWM or public radio
Our benefits include comprehensive healthcare plans, PTO and family leave, retirement plan, and moving expenses. The salary range for this position is $49,000-$55,000 per year, with actual compensation dependent upon qualifications and experience.
