This is a full-time position, based in Bangor, responsible for operating, monitoring and controlling all television and radio equipment in MPBN Master Control. The usual shift for this position is primarily from mid-afternoon through 1am Friday through Monday, although the schedule may change temporarily or permanently as necessary. The work week may consist of four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days. MPBN offers competitive pay and an excellent benefits package. MPBN is an equal opportunity employer.
The Technical Operator will perform assignments independently, paying meticulous attention to detail and record keeping. Duties of this position include, but are not limited to operating electronic test equipment; operating and monitoring television and radio transmitters; maintaining accurate broadcast, transmitter and maintenance logs and records; working with staff in other departments; editing; and other reasonably-related duties as assigned.
One year of experience in broadcast engineering or a related field is a plus. The successful candidate must possess effective communication and computer skills. The ability to perform physical tasks which may include lifting and bending and working outside in inclement weather required.
