One of the nation’s largest and most cutting-edge public media companies is seeking a dynamic and versatile Programming/Traffic Tech to join our team.  The successful candidate will be scheduling on-air interstitial material and programs and will act as a liaison between master control, production, corporate sales and other departments in meeting deadlines for Programming and on-air operations.


TYPICAL DUTIES:   Prepares program logs within Myers Protrack TV software according to station policies and Federal Communication Commission (FCC) regulations, including continuity/promotional spot input.  Assists with assignment of network records needed for broadcast.  Delivers tapes and continuity materials to appropriate on-air personnel, including electronic transfer.  Assists with proofing and data entry of all materials as needed for broadcast logs.  Liaison between Programming/Traffic and Master Control to execute policies and procedures of broadcast elements to on-air.  Liaison between Programming/Traffic and content-generating departments for transfer of all network-related interstitial materials and programs.  Works closely with Corporate Underwriting and assists with entering sales contracts and contract flight scheduling of television broadcast and non-broadcast elements. 


QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience.  2 yrs successful traffic experience in the broadcast industry.  Ability to work with figures, specifically timing information, and maintain accuracy; attention to detail is essential.  Must be available for on call coverage during station broadcast hours.  Experience in operating and maintaining a PC based database.  Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.  Knowledge of television broadcast operations and procedures. Experience using Myers ProTrack preferred.
