New Mexico PBS at the University of New Mexico seeks detail-oriented candidates for a Broadcast Operator position.
Under general supervision, this position ensures continuity of broadcast programming and serviceability of equipment during operating hours. Maintains all required program and operational logs to demonstrate FCC compliance. Works on roster within a 7-day workweek, 19 hour per day operating schedule. Creates broadcasting program schedule; which schedules times, space and dates for broadcast coverage. Coordinates, orders and maintains logs on broadcast rights for programs aired. Rigorously consistent and reliable attendance is a requirement of this position.
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred qualifications are as follows:
- Experience with PBS-specific broadcast scheduling software.
- Experience with file-based workflow processes
- Familiarity with broadcast automation environments.
- Experience with ProTrack software
