NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Sinclair Broadcast Group/Chattanooga needs a creative and dedicated full-time news photographer – someone who can see beyond the lens and bring back compelling stories. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will cover day-to-day, general, in-depth features and investigative assignments.  We are shooting full high-definition (HD) on media cards, and editing on desktops and laptops.  Must have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic and a great attitude.  A passion for storytelling is essential in this position.

REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements:

  • Must be an aggressive team-player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and be able to operate ENG news vehicles
  • Must have at least one year of shooting experience
  • Must possess technical knowledge of editing and photo equipment
  • Ability to edit and shoot general assignment stories, lives shots and natural sound packages
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 to 50 pounds on a regular basis

This individual will write scripts, work with the sales and air staff to create ads that help maximize sales, voice and produce high quality commercials/demos and also work with clients.

Must be proficient in writing radio copy, understand digital production and network/internet interface, be able to work well under pressure, be organized, detail oriented, and meet deadlines.  Must be able to perform independently and in a team environment.

Proven problem solving and time management skills are required as well as strong oral and written communication skills.  This person must be able to learn and work with various software programs.
