Director of Business Development

Walnut Media is seeking a highly motivated, professional, and detail-oriented Director of Business Development to support the CEO and Director of Digital Services in the daily management and long-term success of the company. The Director of Business Development will serve as a key strategic partner, ensuring communication, workflow, and systems are efficient and effective across departments. A central part of this role includes sales staff oversite, driving accountability, and supporting operational excellence in a fast-paced media and sales environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with the CEO and Digital Sales Director to manage and execute company priorities, initiatives, and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee day-to-day workflow and systems to ensure smooth operations and effective communication across departments.
  • Support and manage the sales team, providing leadership, accountability, and coaching to help achieve revenue goals.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental projects and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Act as a communication hub between the CEO and internal staff, ensuring clarity and alignment on goals and expectations.
  • Analyze and improve systems, processes, and reporting to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist in preparing materials for executive meetings, sales presentations, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Represent the CEO in internal meetings and, when needed, external functions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Media, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales management, operations, or executive support roles.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/sales platforms preferred.
